Recently, BABYMONSTER, YG Entertainment’s latest monster rookies, held a series of events in Bangkok, Thailand ahead of their fan meeting there. The presence of the seven rookie members attracted significant attention from fans.

However, Asa sparked controversy following accusations of having the “celebrity disease” and ignoring fans who were waiting for the BABYMONSTER members.

During the event, while other BABYMONSTER members enthusiastically waved and greeted fans, Asa covered her face and walked straight through the area where fans were gathered, seemingly ignoring them.

This incident stirred controversy as it appeared Asa was behaving arrogantly despite being a rookie, with less than a year of idol experience.

However, in a different video clip, when Asa moved to another location, she waved and bid farewell to the waiting fans.

Another angle of the footage captured behind the scenes of the Thailand event showed Asa excitedly receiving gifts from fans, debunking the allegations that the rookie idol caught the celebrity diesease. This clip aimed to clarify that the accusations against Asa were nothing but rumors.

BABYMONSTER Recent Activities

On July 1, 2024, BABYMONSTER released the single “FOREVER,” as a pre-release to their upcoming first full-length album. It is currently unknown when the aforementioned album will be released, as YG Entertainment has yet to drop the full details.

The group held their first ever fan meeting tour following their debut. The tour, which started in May, saw the members tour across several Asian regions, including Singapore, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, and Indonesia. As a result, BABYMONSTER performed at “arena-class” venues within forty days of their debut, with their Tokyo event alone selling out 26,000 tickets.

Prior to their official debut, BABYMONSTER released two singles: “BATTER UP” in November 2023 and “Stuck in the Middle” in February 2024. Both releases originally did mot feature Ahyeon, as she was on hiatus due to health issues.
