Soon is known as a former member of the boy group N.CUS as well as a contestant under the name Nam Seung Hyun on the survival program ‘My Teenage Boy: Fantasy Boys’. The former idol began going viral among Japanese fans on July 4 when netizens noticed his public social media posts of his girlfriend, including photos and matching Instagram bios.
His public relationship is now viral among Japanese fans with over 2 million views on posts on X. Many fans are expressing their annoyance and anger over Nam Seung Hyun and his girlfriend’s public posts, commenting, “It’s gross to do this on an account your fans follow,” “He always made it obvious he had a girlfriend, and we just let him be. If you were going to do this, why did you say you would work harder during your birthday cafe event? Why did you say you would debut? Was this a dream so easy to give up,” and more.
Nam Seung Hyun then responded with the public statement as follows:
“Hello, this is Nam Seung Hyun.
I apologize for causing concern to the fans regarding the current controversy. I would like to address the situation and the misunderstandings.
Firstly, during the filming of ‘Fantasy Boys’, I did not have a girlfriend. I was genuinely dedicated to the program, dreaming of becoming an idol again. I worked hard, motivated by the love and support from the fans, and I tried to reciprocate that love.
Currently, my contract with the agency has ended. I am now a regular person who no longer dreams of becoming an idol. I met my girlfriend after the program ended, and we are seriously discussing marriage. I hope you can refrain from making excessive speculations about my girlfriend, who is a regular person like myself.
As a trainee, I thought it was necessary to inform the fans that my contract with the agency had ended and that I was no longer pursuing the dream of becoming an idol.
