SHINee's Onew successfully holds 'GUESS!' fan meeting in Manila, makes sure to use the energy he receives from fans
On July 4, SHINee member and solo artist Onew graced the Philippine stage at the New Frontier Theater for his ongoing 2024 ‘GUESS!’ fan meeting tour.
Before the show started, Onew greeted the members of the press backstage and relayed his gratitude for such an opportunity. He said, “This is my first time performing alone in the Philippines, and I’m looking forward to holding many more concerts with so many fans in the future.”
A few minutes after greeting the media, the singer finally kicked off the anticipated show, evident by how nearly all the seats in the theater were occupied.
When asked about the title of his tour, ‘GUESS!’, Onew answered it’s because he wants the fans to anticipate what he has in store for them: “Guess what I’m going to do next!”
There were several segments in which the attendees were able to get to know more about Onew, with the titles linked to the name of the tour, including “Guess Recent Pictures,” “Guess Favorite Song,” “Guess Onew’s Style,” “Guess Who I Am,” and “Guess About Onew.”
During the fan meeting, he sang Harry Styles’s “As It Was” and SHINee’s “Love Like Oxygen.” He also treated the fans with his “cute” and “hot” versions of TWICE’s “Look At Me.”
Onew also shared that among the four choices of styles he was given: suit, bad boy/good boy, cardigan/warm vibe, or doctor style, he picked the last one: the doctor look. “It’s cool and comfortable to wear,” he said.
For his TMI that day, he shared, “I ate a lot of food today. I ate pear, orange, apple. They were delicious!” He also named “Sign” from his first solo mini-album ‘VOICE’ as his current favorite song.
As the show drew to a close, Onew gave his final segment: “I will make sure that this energy I received from you, I will use it in good purposes. Just as long as you waited for this to happen, I also waited for this.”
A message from him also appeared on the huge screen. It read: “Manila, we did a lot of things together, and we have to continue to do it together. I’m grateful for your faith in me until now. Please continue to take good care of me. Let’s meet for a long time.”
To top it all off, Onew gifted the fans a special performance of his unreleased song and concluded the fan meeting with his soothing performance of “O (Circle).”
