Song Il Kook's wife face revealed on 'You Quiz on the Block'

On the July 3 episode of tvN’s variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (hereafter referred to as ‘You Quiz’), actor Song Il Kook revealed the love story with his wife, Judge Jeong Seung Yeon.

The actor talked about how he met his wife as Song Il Kook shared, “An entertainment reporter jokingly set me up on a blind date,” and added, “At the time, I was starring in the drama ‘Jumong,’ and my popularity was sky-high. But my wife turned me down twice. So, out of spite, I insisted on meeting her.”

He continued, “The first time I met her was on Liberation Day. Honestly, it was love at first sight,” candidly sharing his experience.

The show also revealed photos of Song Il Kook’s wife, including unedited images from their wedding. The couple dated for about two years before getting married in 2008 and welcomed their triplets in 2012.

Regarding the names of their triplets—Dae Han, Min Guk, and Man Se—Song Il Kook explained, “My mother’s exclamation inspired their names. She exclaimed, ‘Ah! Dae Han, Min Guk, Man Se!’ Initially, we wanted to name them Cheon, Ji, and In, but we couldn’t find suitable names other than Cheon.”

However, Song Il Kook admitted that his wife was worried about their children’s names. Yet, after appearing on KBS2’s ‘The Return of Superman,’ the name Man Se received much love.

During the broadcast, Song Il Kook expressed pride in appearing on a variety show with his children after ten years. He also mentioned his current involvement in the play ‘Macbeth’ with Hwang Jung Min and discussed his weight loss journey and theater activities.

He humorously remarked, “Before the kids were born, I was in great shape, but after they were born, there was always food at home.”

Previously, false rumors about Song Il Kook’s divorce and separation spread on YouTube. Although Song Il Kook and his wife briefly lived apart due to a job reassignment, their relationship remains strong.

The love story of Song Il Kook and Judge Jeong Seung Yeon, along with episodes involving their triplets, has been well-received by viewers.
