Exclusive Q&A with BOBO.XX

For more insight into the first guest of Carpool Conversation, we sat down with BOBO.XX for an exclusive Q&A. Here’s what he had to say about his experiences, inspirations, and the all-new Toyota Camry:

Question 1:

You mentioned having a personal connection to the Camry, can you tell us about that?

Bobo Xx : A Toyota Camry has always been part of my family’s journey. It was literally my first hand me down car. The Camry would take me from home, where my dreams were born to the destination of where my dreams were achieved. A place where I can be alone and a place where I welcome friends. A space where I can laugh, cry, scream and sing along with my favorite bands. In this crazy world where things are ever changing, having a reliable space of comfort is what a Camry was to me. Fun fact: my mother still drives a Camry til this day, it’s at 230k miles riding strong but she might need a new one soon.. *wink wink* Toyota…

Question 2 :
What is your favorite part of the all new Camry?

Bobo Xx : As a recording artist, the best place to listen to new mixes and share new songs is in my car. My favorite part of the all-new Camry is definitely how immersed I felt with the JBL sound system.

Question 3 :
What was it like working with Eric Nam in this new context?

Bobo Xx : It’s such a full circle moment getting collaborate with Eric on camera. He was one of the first artists I toured with as a photographer. We created so many funny moments of banter and inside jokes when I was behind the camera that now being in front of it and represented as an artist is an extremely rewarding feeling and makes me feel confident about how I’m evolving. I’ve always studied how he navigated the world. From the way he performs, treats his team and his work ethic is something I’ve always been inspired by and have taken pieces of it and applied to my own life. I can’t put into words on how grateful I am to be here.

Question 4:

How would you describe your “vibe”?

Bobo Xx : My vibe is all about embracing the journey of doing what you love. Enjoying the traffic, the detours, the scenic route and whatever else lies ahead. I think everyone is so focused on the destination that they forget to enjoy the moments it took to get there.

Question 5:

What was your favorite part of this project?

Bobo Xx : This is definitely one of those moments that I’m like “wow, this is all possible.” I hope it inspires people who had a dream but in whatever life situation they got redirected in, to know there’s still another chance at you going for your dream.

Question 6:
What’s next on the horizon for you as an artist?

Bobo Xx : I’m constantly trying to push the boundaries of what’s expected of me artistically. I have such a rich emotional human experience that I have a lot to express. Also have a bunch of collab projects with some amazing artists that I’m excited to share with the world soon. Maybe you’ll even see me in some acting roles this upcoming year.
