TXT's Yeonjun issues an apology after posting photos from his Japan trip on the National Liberation Day of Korea

TXT’s Yeonjun issued an apology following his “Inappropriate” post on Instagram on August 15.

On August 15, Korea celebrates National Liberation Day, commemorating the country’s liberation from 35 years of Japanese colonial rule. While many Koreans marked the occasion with patriotic posts and celebrations, TXT’s Yeonjun faced backlash after sharing photos from his trip to Japan on social media.

Some netizens found the timing of the post inappropriate, given the significance of the day, and criticized Yeonjun for being insensitive. The incident has sparked debate among fans, with some defending his right to post freely while others pointed out the need to be mindful of the historical context.

Following the criticism, Yeonjun issued an apology on Weverse and stated:

Hello, this is Yeonjun.

I failed to respect the historical significance and meaning of National Liberation Day and carelessly uploaded a photo.

I sincerely apologize to everyone who was hurt by my thoughtless actions. I will reflect on my shortcomings and be more mindful in the future to ensure that something like this does not happen again.

Once again, I am truly sorry to everyone.

Korean netizens commented:

“He apologized so he shouldn’t make the same mistake later.”

“Now that you understand, if it doesn’t happen again, everyone will recognize the sincerity of your apology.”

“At least he apologized. He won’t do it again.”

“The apology statement is fine. It directly mentions the history of National Liberation Day and doesn’t come across as being overly cautious about Japan. Just be careful in the future.”

“That’s a good apology.”

“Okay, just be careful next time.”

“I liked that he took the courage to apologize right away.”
