Son Suk Goo says he wants to appear on the 'I Am Solo' dating show

Actor Son Suk Goo recently revealed that one of his top ambitions is to participate in the reality dating show ‘I Am Solo.’

On August 15, actress Choi Yoon Young featured Son Suk Goo as the first guest on her YouTube channel, Ho Goo Protector, in a video titled “LEGO Talk Show Episode 1 Guest ‘Son Suk Goo’.”

During their discussion about relationships, Son Suk Goo confessed, “I’ve never been on a blind date in my entire life. The things I want to experience most are blind dates, campus couple relationships, and appearing on ‘I Am Solo’.”

Both actors shared their enthusiasm for the show, with Choi Yoon Young even recounting a peculiar tip she saw on Instagram for attracting a good partner: “It said you should roll up a solo photo of yourself, tie it with three red ribbons, and place it on your desk. Supposedly, this keeps unsuitable men away and brings in the right one—like a charm.”

Son Suk Goo responded humorously, “What on earth does that even mean?” sparking laughter.

When asked if she had ever gone on blind dates, Choi Yoon Young admitted, “I never used to, but suddenly this year, a lot of people have been encouraging me to go on one. I’ve had about five offers so far.”

Son Suk Goo jokingly asked if these offers were for arranged marriages, to which Choi Yoon Young quickly retorted, “No, they were blind dates! You can still go on blind dates even in your 50s,” leading to more playful banter.

As a dedicated fan of ‘I Am Solo,’ Son Suk Goo went on to discuss common mistakes contestants make on the show. “From a viewer’s perspective, the biggest mistake they make is rushing. They try to treat five days like five hours instead of pacing themselves. You can’t approach things that way,” he said sympathetically.

He also offered some advice: “Are you worried someone else might take them away? Everything comes down to timing. Relationships don’t develop overnight. If you can’t wait and rush in saying, ‘I’m choosing Young Ja,’ then there’s no turning back.”
