Youjoung Criticized for Doing THIS to BB Girls — Why Is Ex-Apink Naeun Being Mentioned?

Following THIS announcement, former BB Girls Youjoung received side-eye from netters.

What did she do and why is Naeun’s name being mentioned?

Recalling, on July 1, Youjoung brought the good news that she finally found her new nest, RND Company, after leaving her former label, Warner Music Korea, in April this year.

On Instagram, she personally delivered the news.

“I’ve started anew with RND Company. This is my first time alone, so I’m half excited and partially scared. But I’ll do my best to show you a good side of me in a lot of ways in the future, together with the CEO and company staff who reached out to me, and my princesses who cheer me on.”

Naturally, BBees (BB Girls fandom) congratulated her and expressed their support for her fresh start. The idol, according to fans, has been through a lot and all they could do for her was to respect her decision and look at her future activities with a positive reaction.

In particular, she started her music career in 2016 as Brave Girls under Brave Entertainment. Initially, they scattered away due to lack of popularity, but a miracle happened when they experienced a reverse run due to their viral hit, “Rollin.”

Unfortunately, they had to leave their original label due to a dispute and disbanded.

In 2023, they made a major announcement of reuniting as BB Girls and signed with Warner Music Korea. Although they attempted to release new music after a viral hit, they failed to surpass their achievement,m.

A year after, BB Girls parted ways with Warner Music and while the three members Yuna, Eunji, and Minyoung decided to continue and establish a company under their name, Youjoung decided to leave the team as well.

During their time as BB Girls, Youjoung was considered a key member; thus, BBees were disappointed that she left without considering the group.

Netizens were disappointed with her decision to leave the group, as well as deciding to continue as a soloist.

“I don’t think I can cheer you on indefinitely. You could have signed up with another company while you were still promoting BB Girls, but the members aren’t the ones to stop you. Maybe it’s because I’m so narrow-minded, but I don’t think I can cheer you on anymore. I’ll cheer you on BB Girl hard.”

Some even compared her to what Naeun did, where she left the thriving group Apink to promote herself as an actress under YG Entertainment, with fans calling her out for “betraying the fandom and members” as well as labeling her as “selfish.”

  • “Do you really need to leave BB Girl and sign with another company? For example, when (former) Apink’s Son Naeun left the group and went to another company, many Apink fans ‘left the group’. As a BB Girl Youjoung fan, don’t you have the right to be disappointed?”
  • “Youjoung’s current popularity was not achieved alone. I understood her withdrawal from BB, but it’s disappointing that she signed a contract with another company on her own and will continue to work hard on her own.”

In response to the netizen’s comment, Youjoung’s fans once again started to protest, and it even developed into a heated debate.

RND Company, which Youjoung signed an exclusive contract with, is home to BIGBANG Daesung, as well as singers Navi, Lisa, Kisum, and comedian Ahn Il Kwon.
