K-Netz Express Concern Over aespa Safety Following Chaotic Airport Arrival: 'They Look Scared...'

Korean netizens are concerned for aespa and their safety after the girl group was mobbed by fans at the airport.

On July 2, aespa were seen departing for Japan via Gimpo Airport for their overseas schedule. As usual for K-pop idols, aespa were met with fans who were waiting for them to arrive at the airport. However, the crowd appeared bigger than anticipated, sparking concern for the girl group’s well-being.

That same day, a post titled “aespa’s airport situation” was shared on TheQoo, a popular online community forum from South Korea. The original author included a tweet that reads, “Why are people acting like this?”

In the comments, another tweet was shared by a Korean netizen that highlighted just how chaotic the airport was. Fans were heard yelling for aespa, as they pushed others and followed the girl group to their gate. Several phones and camera flashes lit the area up as people tried to take a photo of their favorite idol.

Korean netizens noticed that the members of aespa appeared scared, and pointed out that they must have a hard time every time they need to go to the airport to attend their overseas schedules.

The criticisms were heavy against the fans at the airport, who slammed them for screaming at the airport. They wondered why they were not being sworn at by security and bystanders for their rowdy behavior. Others claimed that if they were in that area, they would block their ears.

Others slammed the fans for shoving their phones at aespa’s faces, while some pointed out that they might get hurt at the rate they were going out. Overall, Korean netizens believe the situation is “severe.”
