Rapper Sleepy opens up about taking on school bullying prevention with new lecture series

Rapper and broadcaster Sleepy recently revealed his involvement in school bullying prevention lectures.

On the morning of July 3 KST, KBS Cool FM’s ‘Park Myung Soo’s Radio Show’ featured a segment called ‘Bold Statements,’ with guests Sleepy and Lee Hyun Yi.

During the show, Park Myung Soo read listeners’ messages and engaged in discussions. One listener mentioned looking forward to a chicken and beer festival, prompting Park to express relief that the weather in Daegu was clear, allowing the festival to proceed as planned. He encouraged listeners to anticipate the event with excitement.

As Lee Hyun Yi and Sleepy joined the studio, the ‘Bold Statements’ segment officially began, focusing on topics related to dating and marriage, given that both guests are married.

Park Myung Soo noticed that Sleepy appeared tired and inquired about his well-being. Sleepy explained, “I don’t sleep much. When I get home at night, I stay up to take care of things.”

Lee Hyun Yi shared her own experience, noting how her husband could sleep through their newborn’s cries, while she would wake at the slightest sound. Park Myung Soo humorously suggested that men pretend not to hear their babies crying.

Sleepy then talked about his new initiative: “I’ve started giving lectures on preventing school bullying. I received an offer last month and began doing it. I believe that maintaining a positive mindset and keeping both body and mind healthy can help reduce violence. Over 70% of school bullying now happens online, rather than face-to-face.”
