Singer Nam Tae Hyun responds to allegations of assault made by his ex-girlfriend

Singer Nam Tae Hyun has responded to allegations of assault made by his ex-girlfriend Seo Eun Woo (formerly Seo Min Jae).

On July 10 KST, Nam Tae Hyun posted a lengthy message on his social media, stating, “I have been aware that my ex-girlfriend has been writing about her former boyfriend. It is regrettable that she is selectively mentioning only the other person’s faults, excluding her own perspective and leaving out the full context.” Recently, Seo Eun Woo claimed she was threatened with revenge porn by her ex-boyfriend and accused him of assault, drawing significant attention.

Nam Tae Hyun emphasized, “The content of the posts currently being shared are private matters from 2-3 years ago when we were in a relationship. We had frequent fights, and it was not a case of one person being solely at fault. I swear that I never unilaterally committed assault.” He also confessed that they continued their relationship even after his drug use was revealed.

He added, “Both of us apologized and reconciled for the hurtful actions we did to each other back then. We continued our relationship as a couple, and after I entered a rehabilitation center, we tried to support each other’s recovery. Our relationship fluctuated, but we maintained contact until recently. I decided that our relationship was not beneficial for either of us and ended it.”

Nam Tae Hyun stated, “I don’t know what my ex-girlfriend will write about our difficult past from her perspective, but I do not want to make any further revelations or responses about our relationship. I don’t want to respond in the same manner, causing misunderstandings and attacks from the public due to her posts.”

He concluded, “I deeply regret and reflect on the immature life I have led, and I am enduring each day. I believe that enduring is a step towards improvement. I wish for my ex-girlfriend’s happiness and hope she can let go of her anger towards anyone remaining and find peace.”

Previously, in August 2022, Seo Eun Woo revealed on her social media that her then-boyfriend, Nam Tae Hyun, had used drugs and assaulted her. Both were subsequently investigated by the police. Seo Eun Woo received a 10-month prison sentence with a two-year probation for violating the Narcotics Control Act, while Nam Tae Hyun was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year probation.
