Lim Ji Yeon and Jeon Do Yeon team up in 'Revolver'

On the 9th, a production report for the movie ‘Revolver’ (directed by Oh Seung-wook) was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul.

During the event, actress Lim Ji-yeon revealed that she was known as ‘Han Ye-jong (Korea National University of Arts)’s Jeon Do-yeon’ during her college days, expressing her admiration for working with Jeon Do-yeon.

Lim Ji-yeon said, “Before shooting a scene, senior actress Jeon Do-yeon would look deeply into my eyes. It felt like Ha Soo-young and Jung Yoon-sun were in the same space. That moment made me understand my character. Her gaze was truly impressive,” she expressed her affection for Jeon Do-yeon.

She continued, “I used to call myself ‘Han Ye-jong’s Jeon Do-yeon’ during my college days because I wanted to be like her. The fact that I now get to work alongside her is a continuous wonder,” she confessed.

Lim Ji-yeon, who graduated from the Korea National University of Arts, has been building her acting skills by appearing in various independent films before her official debut.

She said, “Back then, I really wanted to make films, so I worked hard. I used public transportation and wore my own clothes for the shoots.”

Lim Ji-yeon debuted in the 2011 short film ‘Disaster Movie’ and gained public recognition with the 2014 film ‘Obsessed.’

She won the New Actress Award at the 51st Grand Bell Awards for ‘Obsessed,’ quickly rising to stardom.

She later showcased bold performances in the film ‘The Treacherous’ but received criticism for her acting.

In 2015, she ventured into dramas with ‘High Society,’ and continued to build a stable career with ‘Jackpot,’ ‘Blow Breeze,’ and ‘Welcome 2 Life,’ winning the Top Excellence Award at the 2019 MBC Drama Awards.

Lim Ji-yeon further honed her acting skills with various projects like ‘Tazza: One-Eyed Jack,’ ‘Spiritwalker,’ ‘Rose Mansion,’ and ‘Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.’ Her breakout role came with the Netflix series ‘The Glory.’

Portraying the school bully ‘Park Yeon-jin’ in ‘The Glory,’ Lim Ji-yeon received widespread acclaim for her transformative performance, sparking the ‘Park Yeon-jin Fever.’

She won the Best Supporting Actress award in the TV category at the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 2nd Blue Dragon Series Awards for her role in ‘The Glory.’

Lim Ji-yeon also made headlines by dating co-star Lee Do-hyun from ‘The Glory,’ receiving many congratulations from fans.

Following her success, she starred in ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’ and ‘The Killing Vote,’ continuing her rise as a top actress.

Having worked with renowned actresses like Song Hye-kyo and Kim Tae-hee, Lim Ji-yeon’s upcoming film ‘Revolver’ with Jeon Do-yeon is highly anticipated.

‘Revolver’ tells the story of former police officer Soo-young (played by Jeon Do-yeon), who goes straight towards a single purpose after being released from prison, where she served time for a crime she didn’t commit.
