‘I-LAND 2’ Fans Distraught After THIS Trainee Fails To Debut With izna

“I-LAND 2” fans are expressing their sadness that one contestant will not be making her debut with izna.

On July 4, 2024, the finale episode of Mnet’s reality survival show “I-LAND 2” was streamed live worldwide. The episode determined the members of the debut group, izna, which will be making their debut under WAKEONE.

In the finale, the line-up was changed from six members to seven. The line-up, in order of member announcement, consists of Koko, Yoon Jiyoon, Bang Jeemin, Choi Jungeun, Ryu Sarang, Mai, and Jeong Saebi.

Following the episode, fans have taken to social media to express their disappointment that Fuko would not be debuting with izna.

During the finale, Fuko was called not once, but twice as a contender for a spot. She was one of the contestants up for the fifth place, as well as one of the contenders for the producer’s pick. Sadly, she failed to secure a spot in the debut line-up.

It was noted that not only was Fuko the oldest contestant on the show, but she also had one of the longest training times — seven years. On top of that, “I-LAND 2” is not her first survival show. In 2021, she competed on “Girls Planet 999,” where she failed to debut with Kep1er.

On top of that, Fuko was seen as one of the most consistent trainees on the show. Throughout her time on “I-LAND 2,” she was only sent to GROUND once, showcasing her skills and talent. Additionally, except for the Signal Song Test, Fuko ranked within the top six, which was called the “Debut Team” at times.

On top of that, Fuko won the songwriting mission for “IWALY,” and was credited as a co-lyricist for the song. After performing as the center in one of the teams, she was selected by the producers to go to Part 2. Later on, she would be the first trainee to be selected to advance to the finals.

As she has consistently showcased her skills, fans expressed their sadness that she wasn’t debuting. They were worried that this might be Fuko’s last chance, as it is unknown whether she will leave WAKEONE following the show. Additionally, as a 2004-liner, she is considered “too old” to be a trainee in the K-pop industry.

However, during her goodbye speech, Fuko expressed her resolve to continue chasing her dreams. Therefore, it is likely she will pursue her K-pop idol goals.
