Super Junior Sungmin & Wife Share 8-Month Pregnancy Journey: 'DINK Family Questions Were Hard'

After announcing pregnancy news after ten years of marriage, Sungmin and his wife Kim Sa Eun shared their challenging yet fun journey as first-time parents.

On July 16, musical actress Kim Sa Eun and Super Junior Sungmin took to the YouTube channel “Shantokki” (run by Sa Eun) to share their successful pregnancy after a decade of marriage.

In the video, the wife revealed Sungmin’s first reaction after seeing the two lines on the pregnancy test. At first, he couldn’t believe that he kept on checking to see if his eyes were not playing tricks on him. He showed happiness later as they went to the hospital to confirm the results.

In the latter part of the vlog, Kim Sa Eun then faced the camera and announced:

“I’m pregnant. It’s actually been quite a while now. It’ll be 8 months by the time you watch this video. At first, I thought there would be people asking, ‘Are you pregnant?’ as months went by, but I was surprised that I got none.”

Showing off her small baby bump, she looks so slim that people would not speculate she’s already in her full term.

Regarding why the couple revealed it just by now, Kim shed tears and confessed:

“I became a mother late, so I was worried and cautious, so I announced it after a while. In terms of years, it’s been 10 years since I got married. In the meantime, many people asked, ‘Are you a DINK (Double Income, No Kids)?’ and ‘When are you going to have the baby?’ The hard part was that I couldn’t have the baby easily. It’s a child that I worked hard to have.”

She shared some of the difficulties she had during her pregnancy journey, saying:

“I started having morning sickness a little early. That’s why I had a hard time, but as the number of months increased, it didn’t stop. I had difficulty breathing, dizziness, etc. I’m happy that I can tell you all the news now. We will work hard together during pregnancy and have a safe delivery.”

Meanwhile, on the same day, Sa Eun shared a maternity photoshoot with Sungmin, drawing attention to whether they will have a baby girl or boy. Regardless of gender, Sungmin shared his excitement and desire to become a responsible father in his letter, saying:

“A precious baby has come to me. I’m becoming a father after 10 years of marriage. This baby came with difficulty so I will raise it with love and sincerity with a sense of responsibility. Now that I have someone to take responsibility for, everything in the world feels more precious than before.” 

Meanwhile, Sungmin and Kim Sa Eun got married in 2014.
