#SHINee’s #TAEMIN achieves a new milestone with over 3 million followers on Spotify!

SHINee’s Taemin achieved a new milestone with over 3 million followers on Spotify!  Taemin is the most followed BPM artist on the platform; the third most followed act of the 2nd generation, and the fifteenth most followed K-pop idol overall.

The singer, born Lee Taemin, debuted in 2008 with SM Entertainment as the youngest member of SHINee, known for hits such as “Replay,” “Ring Ding Dong”, “Sherlock,” and “View”.

Taemin is also a renowned solo artist of 10 years since debuting successfully in 2014 with his 1st Mini Album ‘ACE’ and followed up with two consecutive albums – “Press It” in 2016 and “MOVE” in October 2017 – Taemin received recognition as best male solo artist for his supreme performance and remarkable vocals.  With the mega-hit title track “MOVE,” Taemin received praise, topping iTunes Albums charts in 12 countries and winning Best Dance Performance Solo at the 2017 MAMA’s and Most Popular Artist at the Seoul Music Awards.

From 2019, Taemin would go on to prove his capabilities as an artist by broadening his musical spectrum with 2nd Mini Album ‘WANT’ and album series ‘Never Gonna Dance Again’ (2020), and in May 2021releasing his 3rd Mini Album ‘Advice’, which peaked iTunes Top Albums chart of 41 regions and ranked on TIME’s The Best K-Pop Songs and Albums of 2021, further establishing himself as an artist with global reach and influence.

On October 30, 2023, Taemin released his 4th Mini Album “Guilty”, after being discharged from mandatory military service on April 4. Taemin’s musical journey in “Guilty” reflects his growth and maturity as an artist. Hypnotising all our senses, Taemin maintains a strong grip on our attention with his title track, “Guilty”, as best felt by watching Taemin’s performance on Show! Music Core and 1st place win!

In March 2024, it was reported that SHINee‘s Taemin would leave SM Entertainment after sixteen years to sign with BPM Entertainment (also known as Big Planet Made).  On April 1, BPM Entertainment revealed that an exclusive contract was signed with Taemin as a solo artist. But Taemin would continue his group activities as a member of SHINee with SM.  

Recently under new label BPM, Taemin announced the release of his 5th Mini Album in August and his first World Tour titled ‘Ephemeral Gaze’, which kicks off at Inspire Arena, Incheon on August 31, 2024.  For more information regarding Taemin’s World Tour check out Taemin’s X account ~ @TAEMIN_BPM.
