Oh My Girl YooA Recent Styling Disappoints K-Netz: 'It's A Shame...'

Oh My Girl member YooA’s recent styling has sparked negative reactions from Korean netizens.

On June 27, 2024, a post titled “YooA’s hair and make-up makes her look so old” was shared with Nate Pann, one of the most well-known online community forums in South Korea.

In the post, the original poster shared two photos of YooA: one from 2023, and one from 2019. The author also included that the photo from 2019 is the image they have of YooA when they think of her.

Her styling in photos is widely different. In 2019, YooA was seen with fair skin and see-through bangs that framed her round face. Her round eyes are accentuated by puppy eyeliner, aegyosal, and light eyelashes. Her lips are plump and pink. The idol overall looks more youthful and pure.

Meanwhile, the photo from 2023 shows YooA with more mature styling. She got rid of her bangs, opting for long, straight black hair. She also changed her eyeliner style, opting for a soft cat-eye instead. Additionally, she is wearing nude lipstick with lip gloss.

Her styling in 2023 is what she has maintained until now, which has sparked a negative reception from Korean netizens. While they acknowledge this is probably the styling YooA likes and gravitates towards, they do not think it suits her. They added that since she has been an idol for years now, she has stopped listening to what the fans like, which has put a sour taste in Korean netizens’ mouths.

People believe her current styling doesn’t suit her, and it is a shame since she has a naturally pretty face. They would much rather she kept the styling during her “Bon Voyage” era, or the styling she had during Oh My Girl’s earlier days. Instead, the idol opts for styling that is more hip and sexy.
