Na PD describes the differences between 'Jinny's Kitchen' season 1 intern BTS's V and season 2 intern Go Min Si

On the morning of June 28 KST, the cast of tvN’s ‘Jinny’s Kitchen’ season 2 attended a press conference for the show’s premiere!

In season 2, the ‘Jinny’s Kitchen’ crew made up of Lee Seo Jin, Jung Yoo Mi, Park Seo Joon, Choi Woo Sik, and Go Min Si will be traveling to Iceland to open a Korean restaurant serving some of Lee Seo Jin’s favorite dishes.

Along with the location change, another change that viewers can look forward to in season 2 is the arrival of a new intern, Go Min Si. She will be replacing BTS’s V from season 1 while V is away for his mandatory military service duties.

Regarding why Go Min Si was selected as the new intern for season 2, Na Young Suk PD stated, “We wanted to choose a young, rising star, so we did a lot of research. Of course, Go Min Si is a talented actress who is currently building up her career diligently, but by researching, we found that she had actually worked many jobs before becoming an actress. In the eyes of the public, it might seem like the working environment here is very casual, but there is still a system in place. So we felt that Go Min Si would be able to adjust to this system while also contributing to the team. Notably, Go Min Si received promotions quickly while working as a wedding planner. Seeing that, I felt that she would fit in well here.”

Next, Na Young Suk PD also describes the differences between the two interns, V and Go Min Si. “Well, there were the human qualities that V showed in season one, but in truth, our program is a show where we run a restaurant. It’s not a real restaurant. if we really wanted to introduce Korean food to the locals, if that was our primary goal, we should be inviting professional chefs. But when we create a team out of actors and put together a restaurant overseas, there is also the process of seeing the actors learning about food, cooking, and business. In season one, V showed viewers the image of a young person just starting out in the workforce, like his fun character, his wit, and also the challenges he faced,” the producer explained.

He then continued, “In Go Min Si’s case, it’s a little different. She is also representative of a young person getting started in the workforce, but she is someone with experience and skill who wishes to be acknowledged, and who wishes to see good results through her efforts. Their roles are rather different. I hope that viewers will be able to observe those natural differences.”

‘Jinny’s Kitchen’ premieres on June 28 at 8:40 PM KST on tvN, also simultaneously streaming globally through Prime Video.
