BTS's V (Kim Taehyung) wins 'Asian Artist of the Year' and 'International Album of the Year' at Brazil's SEC Awards 2024

The SEC Awards, also known as the Series Em Cena Awards, is an annual event that celebrates prominent individuals and groups in film, television, music, and entertainment. It is organized by Séries em Cena, a Brazilian media outlet that also serves as an editorial partner of MTV Brasil.

On June 28, the SEC Awards revealed its winners in 40 categories for the 2024 edition. Among these, Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, won in two categories.

The first award was “Asian Artist of the Year” in recognition of Taehyung’s outstanding influence in the entertainment industry.

The second award Taehyung received was “International Album of the Year” for his debut solo album “Layover,” which was released in September 2023.

This marks “Layover’s” second international award this year, following its win for “Favorite Debut Album” at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last April.

In Brazil, Taehyung is regarded as a global pop icon. Renan Peixoto, a renowned Brazilian journalist and producer of Latin America’s largest broadcasting network, once stated, “V is an icon of Eastern culture who has presented a new direction by transcending the stereotype that handsome men should be Western and macho.”

Congratulations, Taehyung!
