Young K of DAY6 bids farewell to "Kiss the Radio" after final broadcast

Boy band DAY6 member Young K has completed his final broadcast of “Kiss the Radio.”

Young K bid farewell to listeners during a live broadcast on the 28th and a pre-recorded broadcast on the 30th, marking the end of his year-long journey with KBS Cool FM’s “Kiss the Radio.”

Previously, Young K was selected as the 9th DJ for “Kiss the Radio” in November 2020, hosting until October 2021 before enlisting in the KATUSA.

He returned as the 11th DJ in June 2023 after being discharged in April 2023. Reflecting on his final broadcast, he expressed his gratitude through his agency, JYP Entertainment:

“The view of fans warmly welcoming me back as a DJ and their support until the final week of the broadcast will remain unforgettable moments. Being DJ Young K, artist Young K, and human Kang Young-hyun has provided me with growth opportunities. I sincerely thank everyone who gave me this opportunity.”

He added, “I remember commemorating DAY6’s comeback on ‘DAY6’s Kiss the Radio.’ It was an exciting and joyous day that I eagerly anticipated. It was a proud moment, as hosting the radio show was a dream come true, and I was happy to share that joy with My Day (the fanbase).”

Young K also expressed his gratitude for the listeners’ love: “Thank you for lighting up ‘DAY6’s Kiss the Radio.’ The nights filled with your stories were an honor to convey. Even if we face difficulties in the days ahead, I hope we don’t miss out on happiness. While I bid farewell as DJ Young K, I will continue to appear before you as Young K, so I ask for your continued support, expectation, and love. Now, I will deliver today’s farewell. ‘Sleep well, my people. Good night,'” concluding with his signature closing remark for “DAY6’s Kiss the Radio.”

Young K has established himself as an all-rounder musician, being credited across albums as the bassist and powerful vocalist of the band, including DAY6’s first unit DAY6 (Even of Day) and his solo albums. He continues to shine in variety and competition shows, raising expectations for his future endeavors.
