Karina Gets Compared to Bae Suzy, Jennie Following Recent CF: 'She's Not As Pretty...'

In an online community, aespa Karina drew divided opinions from K-netz after her recent CF for Vita 500 ZERO was compared to Bae Suzy and BLACKPINK Jennie.

In April, the 4th-gen idol became a hot topic after Kwangdong Pharmaceutical introduced Karina as its new model for Vita 500 ZERO.

In a video released on its official YouTube channel, the top star showed off her main vocal-worthy skills by singing the CM song using the Vita 500 melody.

She then attracted more interest due to her vibrant and healthy visuals that combine well with her sweet voice.

Then, on July 24, it belatedly drew more interest from K-netz. The vlog-like CF has surpassed 12 million views as of July 1, and even ranked No. 1 in popular videos on YouTube Korea.

In the comments’ section, fans raved about the idol.

Despite overwhelming praise, some weren’t impressed. In an article on June 30, a netizen criticized her “thick” makeup, and compared her to Bae Suzy and BLACKPINK Jennie, who were her predecessor models.

They wrote:

“Her makeup is so thick that I feel uncomfortable every time I see the ad.

Suzy and Jennie both have soft and innocent makeup that matches the refreshing concept of Vita 500, but why is Karina wearing stage makeup… It’s a bit disappointing.”

The post has now over 160k views and 300+ recommendations, where a lot agree with the author.
