Min Hee Jin denies allegations of stealing NewJeans members from Source Music, plans legal action

Min Hee Jin, CEO of ADOR, denies allegations of stealing NewJeans members from Source Music.

On the 23rd, Min Hee Jin’s side stated that the allegations are “false” and that they would “take legal action.”

On the same day, Min Hee Jin was accused of participating in Source Music’s trainee N-Team (now NewJeans) debut project, but deliberately delaying N-Team’s debut because she was dissatisfied with not having control over the project.

According to reports, Source Music had been preparing for N-Team’s debut since 2018, aiming for a third-quarter 2021 debut. The debut song “Attention” by NewJeans was also prepared while they were still trainees under Source Music in 2021.

Additionally, chat messages were revealed in which Min Hee Jin allegedly discussed with a shaman, saying, “I want to keep it because it’s too valuable,” “I fought with So Sung-jin (CEO of Source Music) and won to have the girl group under my label’s name,” and “It would have been difficult without the shaman’s guidance and support.”

There are claims that HYBE and Source Music planned to debut N-Team in the third quarter of 2021 and S-Team (now LE SSERAFIM) in the first quarter of 2022, but these plans were ultimately thwarted due to repeated delays by Min Hee Jin.

However, in an emergency press conference, Min Hee Jin asserted that she personally cast the NewJeans members and claimed that HYBE unilaterally broke their promise to debut NewJeans as HYBE’s first girl group due to LE SSERAFIM’s debut. She also argued that Source Music had neglected the NewJeans members.
