'Global Bench Setters' RIIZE showcase high-energy performance at the 'RIIZING DAY' fan con in Manila: "Thanks to BRIIZE, RIIZE made it this far"

On July 14, ‘Global Bench Setters’ RIIZE graced the stage in the Philippines for the first time since their debut in September last year as part of their first ‘RIIZING DAY’ fan concert tour. “I hope today will also be a good memory,” said Sungchan.

Before the boys took the stage by storm, the venue was already thrumming: there was a literal storm displayed on the huge screens — coupled with both the raging sound system and the red and white lighting flashed in perfect sync — that elevated the atmosphere inside the Araneta Coliseum with thousands fans cheering for Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton (cheers that also reached Seunghan even though he wasn’t physically there). The cheers then took to the next level the moment the stage screen split into half, the boys appeared then kicked off the night with the iconic line of “Siren,” “Beat beat beat droppin’ low feelin’ up.”

After their high-spirited performance of their hit single “Siren,” where they were able to showcase their live stable vocals and moves in unison, RIIZE then introduced themselves to the crowd. Shotaro admitted that the energy was crazy even during the soundcheck. “I’m so happy that I’m in Manila,” he said.

Eunseok added that this is RIIZE’s first time performing in the Philippines but he could already feel the fans’ passion and support. Anton also revealed that he was worried because this was their first stage but after hearing the cheer for them, those worries faded away.

Before moving on to the next set, two segments took place, titled “BRIIZE to RIIZE Capsule” and “Real-time Growth Diary.”

The rest of the setlist includes “One Thing” by One Direction, “Happy! Happy! Happy!,” “Love 119,” “White Christmas” by Super Junior, “Honestly,” “Talk Saxy,” “Get A Guitar,” “9 Days,” “Impossible,” “One Kiss,” and “Memories.” They also performed the title track from their first mini-album ‘RIIZING,’ “Boom Boom Bass” for the first time on their tour.

As the show drew to a close, the members relayed their messages to the fans who went and supported them for their first show in the country.

Sungchan: “It was great and happy to meet our Manila BRIIZE face to face and spend quality time. I’m really happy. Today, there was a performance that we didn’t show before like “Boom Boom Bass.” I’m really happy that I’m on stage in front of you. I’m happy that we were able to make an unforgettable memory in Manila. I hope we can meet again in a bigger venue. Please make sure that your energy is as high for the next show, okay? I’d also like to express sincere gratitude to Bench as our sponsor.”

Eunseok: “Your energy was so exceptional and extraordinary. It was an unforgettable memory I made today in Manila. Our stay in Manila was not long enough, but next time when we come back, I hope it’s long enough so we can explore the Philippines more. I hope that we also get to perform on a bigger stage for our next show.”

Anton: “You gave us so much energy. I’m so thankful for having this opportunity, to perform in front of you. I hope we can come back. We’ll come back. I’d like to thank our main sponsor, Bench, for allowing and helping us today to be here in front of you guys. I didn’t know what to expect when I came here. I had so much fun, and I wish this stayed longer. I’m going to miss you guys. Thank you so much for always supporting us.”

Wonbin: “Please support us and love us a lot in the future as well. I also enjoyed this show. I feel like my voice became hoarse. Just imagine how much I enjoyed that my voice is already almost gone. Today’s energy was really really amazing. I was surprised. I really want to come back and have a concert in Manila again. Thank you very much to everyone and to Bench for giving us a lot of help. In the future, when we come back for another show, you’ll l be seeing a lot more of amazing performances, so please look forward to it!”

Sohee: “Thanks to BRIIZE, RIIZE made it this far. With BRIIZE by our side, we’ll be able to continue and be successful. Going forward, we’ll become the RIIZE that BRIIZE can be proud of. Manila BRIIZE’s energy was beyond my expectations. The energy, the happiness, how you enjoyed, it’s all beyond the expectations, that’s why I also enjoyed this show as well.”

Shotaro: “[‘Boom Boom Bass’] is our first mini-album’s title song. It’s the song that BRIIZE gave a lot of love and support to. Thank you! I also enjoyed it when I saw that from the very first stage, everyone was already jumping including those from the fourth floor. The energy was really exceptional. Also, we were able to get a lot of strength and we were able to enjoy the stage as well.”

RIIZE’s ‘RIIZING DAY’ fan con in Manila was presented by Bench.
