Boy group MIRAE disbands after 3 year run

MIRAE, the boy group under DSP Media, will disband after three years since their debut. DSP Media announced on July 9 KST that the members have decided to end their group activities after much deliberation and discussion.

The members shared handwritten letters on their official social media, bidding farewell to their fans. Leader Lee Junhyuk wrote, “I learned a lot thanks to NOW (fan club name) during my time with MIRAE and am grateful for the unforgettable moments we created together.”

Son Dongpyo will remain with DSP Media and continue his individual activities. He shared, “Honestly, there were many moments when I felt broken and uncertain. But even during those times, we were always together, walking alongside our fans, learning how to stand back up. Please watch over us as we each pursue our dreams.”

MIRAE debuted in March 2021 with their EP ‘KILLA.’ They were noted as the next group from DSP Media, an entertainment company known for producing iconic groups like Sechskies, Fin.K.L, Click-B, SS501, KARA, and April. MIRAE was the first group DSP launched in four years following the co-ed group KARD. Members included contestants from survival shows such as ‘Produce X 101’ and ‘Under Nineteen’.

Their last domestic release was the mini-album ‘Boys Will Be Boys,’ which was released in July of last year.
