Following news of signing with Teddy Park’s THEBLACKLABEL, BLACKPINK Rosé explained to BLINKs her reason of joining the company.

On June 18, the Korean entertainment agency, THEBLACKLABEL, led by Producer Teddy Park, confirmed the initial rumors that the global star found her new nest with them. With this, Rosé will be joining its artist lineup that includes BIGBANG Taeyang, Jeon Somi, Zion.T, Park Bo Gum and more.

She will also be continuing her 10-year relationship as artist-producer with Teddy, who has created various hits for BLACKPINK starting from their debut hits, “Whistle” and “BOOMBAYAH,” in 2016.

On June 19, the “Gone” singer penned a letter to BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) on her Instagram and shared her real feelings about the news.

She started by implying that she didn’t really want to reveal the announcement yet before her upcoming music release, then apologizing to fans who have been waiting for a long time.

Rosé then reported on her current situation and briefly mentioned the reason she left YG Entertainment, emphasizing:

“As you all know I have come from a place where more things have been done for me over doing things on my own. So naturally, I need time to learn, understand, doubt and trust myself and other countless times to be the most responsible person I can be for myself.”

She then continued to hint at the reason she chose THEBLACKLABEL after several months of learning to be independent.

The K-pop superstar said:

“I am officially working with @/theblacklabel as my music management who will be managing my curriculum and helping me navigate towards achieving my dreams.”

Under her new nest, Rosé brought the exciting news of her return as a soloist, asking fans to wait for him a little longer.

Meanwhile, after only signing a contract for full group activities with YG, the four members have been announcing their respective move as solo artists.

Lisa established a one-man label LLOUD and is set to release her new single “ROCKSTAR” on June 28 under the company. She is also expected to expand her career as an actress by joining “White Lotus” Season 3, which will be her acting debut.

Jennie is then focusing on her music endeavors under her personal label, Odd Atelier. Recently, she worked together with Zico for “SPOT!” and created a worlwide hit.

Lastly, Jisoo, who is now a solo artist under BLISSOO hinted at her transition to being an actress, on top of being a singer.

After success of her debut drama “Snowdrop,” she is currently embarking on new projects including the upcoming series, “Inflluenza” and the live-action adaptation film of the Webtoon, “Omniscient Reader.”
