Actor Kang Kyung Joon in court for adultery damages lawsuit

First trial for actor Kang Kyung Joon’s adultery damages lawsuit to take place.

According to the legal community, Judge Kim Mi Ho of the Seoul Family Court’s Family Division 5 will hold the first hearing of the damages lawsuit filed by Mr. A against Kang Kyung Joon on July 24 at 11 AM KST.

Kang Kyung Joon was accused last December of being involved in an affair with Mrs. B, the wife of Mr. A, and was consequently embroiled in a lawsuit demanding 50 million KRW in damages. Mr. A claims that Kang Kyung Joon engaged in the affair knowing that Mrs. B was married.

At the time, Kang Kyung Joon’s agency denied the accusations, stating, “There is room for misunderstanding, and we plan to respond sequentially.” However, the Telegram messages released by Mr. A showed Kang Kyung Joon expressing affection with phrases such as “I miss you,” “I want to hug you,” and “I love you, I want to be with you.”

The Seoul Central District Court referred the case to mediation, but as Mr. A repeatedly expressed his unwillingness to settle, the case was transferred to the Seoul Family Court in April.

Meanwhile, Kang Kyung Joon married actress Jang Shin Young in 2018, and they have two sons together. The couple has showcased their happy family life on SBS’s ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 – You Are My Destiny’ and KBS 2TV’s ‘The Return of Superman’.
