ZEROBASEONE Ricky has unintentionally ignited worry among fans after a seemingly lighthearted comment during a recent virtual fancall.

During the fancall, a ZEROSE (ZEROBASEONE fan) requested Ricky to imitate the expression of his assigned zeroni character, Rinini.

Rinini, depicted as an angry cat, is representative of Ricky within the LINE FRIENDS collaboration.

Ricky’s response, however, caused a stir.

He questioned why Rinini appeared perpetually upset, jokingly suggesting that WAKEONE might be aware of his unhappiness and incorporated it into the character’s design.

The video clip of the exchange garnered over 235,000 views on X (formerly Twitter) at the time of writing.

This exchange has fueled speculation that Ricky might be experiencing dissatisfaction with WAKEONE’s treatment.

Previously, ZEROSEs have expressed concern about Ricky’s apparent exclusion from promotional content, including the Mnet reality show trailer and group footage.

Additionally, fans pointed out inconsistencies with Ricky’s screentime and participation in group activities.

These recent events come on top of past controversies surrounding WAKEONE’s handling of Ricky.

Notably, fans were angered by an incident where Ricky, alongside fellow member Zhang Hao, was denied entry to Jeju Island due to a passport misunderstanding, seemingly a lapse on the agency’s part.

ZEROSES are now questioning whether Ricky had any creative input in the design of Rinini.

This is due to contrasting statements from other group members who claimed involvement in designing their respective characters.

Additionally, a previously released promotional image by LINE FRIENDS featured Rinini with a smile, further confusing fans.

With the situation continuing to unfold, ZEROSES are anxiously awaiting further developments and hoping for clarification from either Ricky or WAKEONE.
