Netizens Name THIS Idol as JYP Entertainment's 'Secret Weapon'

On TikTok, this 4th-gen idol under JYP is gaining attention for her all-rounder image that is yet to be appreciated by K-pop fans, then calling her “secret weapon.”

Earlier, NMIXX Sullyoon drew massive praise in the short-form video-sharing platform after her cover of aespa’s “Next Level” and LE SSERAFIM’s “Unforgiven.”

She especially impressed K-pop fans when she effortlessly reached the high notes from aespa’s one of the most difficult songs.

While it was normally tiring to perform with four members, Sullyoon flawlessly rocked the cover with her vocals alone!

Amid LE SSERAFIM’s live singing skills controversy, she also received rave reviews for singing “UNFORGIVEN,” netizens leaving comments that the group should learn from her!

However, despite her impeccable singing, fans wonder why she isn’t considered a top vocalist yet among fourth-gen idols.

With this, some explained that since Lily and Haewon, NMIXX’s main vocalists often received the killing parts and highlights, Sullyoon was deprived of the opportunity to show her singing ability even more then.

Others also emphasized that because of her top-tier visuals, some fans rather focused on her beauty, overshadowing her real skills.

As a result, netizens rallied that JYP Entertainment should take the chance while vocals are given high priority by fans and use their “secret weapon” Sullyoon to raise NMIXX’s status in the K-pop scene by giving her more projects that will highlight her vocal abilities.

Fans were also frustrated that if Sullyoon joined SM Entertainment instead, one of the companies who initially scouted her, she would have been big as well like aespa.

But due to her love for TWICE, Sullyoon ended up joining JYP instead.

From May to June, the group was booked and busy to perform in various University Festivals where they showcased perfect live singing.

Amid this, a minor mishap happened when JYP Entertainment decided to fake a sound incident and opted for staged marketing where the group continued to sing even if the MR was cut off.

Keen-minded netizens then raised suspicions when some attendees said that there had been no problems with the sounds until NMIXX.

JYP admitted their ploy and apologized, but still, NMIXX garnered applause for their high-quality vocals.
