Police and firefighters show up at the '2024 Weverse Con Festival' after fans cause disorder during lined entry

According to fans on site, police and firefighters were dispatched to Discovery Park in Yeongjong-do, Incheon, where day one of the ‘2024 Weverse Con Festival’ is currently taking place.

In order to see the outdoor shows during day one of the music festival, fans began lining up early in the morning to get a good spot in the park.

However, although fans were lined up in an organized line to enter the park in an orderly fashion, it seems that some began to ignore the lines and run toward the entrance once the staff began entry.

Some SNS users waiting in line reported shouts and cries heard from near the entrance, raising concerns over safety. Others also complained of lack of adequate staff and security personnel managing the lines.

In the end, police officers and firefighters arrived on site to begin talking with the entry staff. Some SNS users also claimed that the ‘Weverse Con Festival’ staff were “arguing” with the police, criticizing the crew’s lack of professionalism.

As many ticket holders were not able to enter the park in time, the concert schedule has also been delayed.

Meanwhile, the ‘2024 Weverse Con Festival’ will take place from June 15-16, with outdoor performances taking place at Discovery Park and indoor performances taking place at Inspire Arena.
