Lucas talks solo debut album 'Renegade' and fan con tour 'FIAT LUX' during his Manila press conference

Solo artist Lucas held a press conference hours before his first solo fan concert, ‘FIAT LUX,’ in Manila, Philippines.

Lucas debuted solo last April 1 with his single album, ‘Renegade,’ featuring the tracks “Renegade,” “Dip It Low,” and “Crushing On You.” On finding his own sound, he believes that he has found his rap tone. “The thing that defines my music is just me, myself, Lucas. I’m going to show my very best to you,” he said.

“The first time I heard the demo version of ‘Renegade’ and after I looked at the lyrics, I thought that maybe this song is really for me,” he shared. “The song is about finding your stronger inner self and fighting your way for life.”

When asked which song from the album he’d like to dedicate to fans, he answered “Crushing On You” because of the sweet lyrics and “Renegade” when it comes to his favorite lyrics.

“Honestly, I was very nervous and worried for this concert,” he uttered. Despite this, everything — from the album and music video to the tour — came to life, Lucas then thanked all the staff for making these possible. “Also, the love and support my fans are giving me. They’re telling me that they’re here for me,” he added. “Those kinds of words encourage me to be a better person.”

“I chose the concept ‘FIAT LUX’ because, in Latin, it means ‘let there be light’,” he said.

On what the fans can expect from him in the future: “I’d love to try acting if there’s an opportunity. I’ll try my best!” Lucas also added that he wants to try different music styles.

Lucas’s ‘FIAT LUX’ in Manila is presented by L-Squared Productions Inc., a fast-rising live events promoter in the Philippines. Lucas is the second of the many Hallyu stars they are bringing to the Filipino Hallyu community. Its next event will be with SHINee’s ONEW scheduled to take place on July 4.
