The conflict between EXO-CBX and SM Entertainment started way back on June 1, 2023, when the two parties disagreed due to transparency issues and unfair contract terms.

Eventually, on June 19, 2023, the issue was resolved through an agreement and maintained EXO’s contracts through some modifications regarding their activities.

Unfortunately, on June 10, 2024, Baekhyun’s agency INB100 revealed that a press conference would be held to report SM Entertainment’s unfair treatment. Sources state that the agency had failed to comply with the agreement and also demanded a portion of sales from EXO-CBX’s activities.

This prompted SM to deny the accusations through a statement, where it accused EXO-CBX of distorting truth and instigating public opinion warfare. SM had also enumerated several factors refuting the trio’s claims of the agency’s unwillingness to provide settlement transparency.

Following this, Baekhyun took his thoughts online to comfort fans.

“I will always think about our fans. The reason I started a company was to meet more of you guys,” Baekhyun shared. “I don’t have big dreams and INB100 doesn’t have to be a big company. I just want to stay loyal to the fans who support me.”
