(G)I-DLE Soyeon Rumored To Join KOZ, HYBE Amid Contract Renewal Discussions With Cube Entertainment
Soyeon has been put in the limelight due to rumors of the idol joining KOZ Entertainment and HYBE Labels amid contract renewal discussions with Cube.
On August 8, Korean news outlet Ilgan Sports released an exclusive report detailing Soyeon being rumoredly courted by numerous labels including KOZ Entertainment from HYBE.
According to sources, rumors already arose prior to Soyeon’s controversial performance that prompted the reactions of Neverlands, Cube Entertainment’s official statement, and Soyeon’s clarification on social media.
One of these rumored agencies was Zico’s company KOZ Entertainment. The sentiments were based on the interactions of Soyeon and Zico in the past. This includes Soyeon’s appearance at KBS2’s “The Seasons – Zico’s Artist.” which made buzz across the K-pop community.

Reports also stated that KOZ Entertainment wasn’t the only company looking out for Soyeon.
There are also rumors that Big Planet Made Entertainment has also been showing great interest in the fourth-gen K-pop icon. Big Planet Made Entertainment is home to SHINee Taemin, VIVIZ, BADVILLAIN, Lee Mujin, BE’O, and Ren.
The outlet also shared that Soyeon would most likely take her time and not rush because of her existing contract with Cube.
Here’s how netizens reacted to the update:
This surprised me
Not the part that she’s gonna leave CUBE, which is logical and totally understandable, but the part that she’s considering going to another company
I believe she’s in a place of relevancy in which she has the power to create her own. I hope she realizes that https://t.co/Qlgq1BjwNl

honestly koz is a good company for soyeon, they give their artists a lot of freedom with their work which is def what she needs after being stuck in fuckass cube 😭 https://t.co/nN5hY6VgpA

this is actually such a good thing cuz compared to other labels in hybe, koz is the least problematic and gives the most freedom to their artists https://t.co/iLu9gppsfZ

i don’t have much to yap about regarding this bc i don’t think there’s sufficient evidence to suggest soyeon will join KOZ yet, but if she does i will be a happy little kpop stan & i hope she brings the rest of idle to KOZ along with her https://t.co/cL8CtTc4ob

I know her fans won't like this but I bet this 100% based on her personal connections with koz and if she ends up in koz it's because she believes it's the safest place https://t.co/tNRlsFAQLy

Before yall start, idk much about her but I'm sure she knows more about what agency is best for her than a bunch of twitter pixels with bitter pre-existing biased hate towards hybe. I wish her and her group luck. If i was under a shit company like cube id definitely want better🫶 https://t.co/fM41cG5nMp

In other news, Cube Entertainment released an official statement confirming the conclusion of Soyeon’s contract in November. The agency first acknowledged the noise Soyeon’s “Is this bad b****** number?” made on social media.
Cube apologized for the inconvenience caused to Soyeon and fans who have always supported (G)I-DLE. The agency announced that it was aware of the performance ahead of time. It then confirmed that Soyeon’s contract will end in November, as stated in her performance.
However, Cube revealed that there was an ongoing discussion regarding Soyeon’s possible contract renewal.
“The time mentioned (in the performance) is when Soyeon’s contract ends,” Cube shared. “We are thoroughly discussing the renewal of her contract.”
