NDO – After being temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many tourist attractions have reopened with improved quality and interesting promotions and discounts of up to 50% for visitors.

People excited about budget domestic tours

People can now easily buy budget tours provided by travel companies using popular online travel agencies such as Booking, Traveloka, and Agoda, with numerous promotional programmes being launched to stimulate domestic tourism.

Discounts on prices are available on air tickets, hotels, and entrance fees at many attractive destinations including Phu Quoc island (Kien Gian province), Da Lat city (Lam Dong province), and Sapa town (Lao Cai province).

Mai Linh from Thanh Xuan district in Hanoi recently had a three-day and two-night vacation to Phu Quoc with her colleagues. “We booked air tickets and hotels at very affordable prices,” she revealed, adding the trip helped her team refill their energy at work while having a lot of fun together after a long year full of the challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic.

The 12-member group had to spend only just over VND50 million to the trip, during which they all enjoyed entertainment and tourist services at good quality.

In a bid to revitalise domestic tourism, airlines have reopened domestic routes after a halt triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic. Passengers can book tickets at airlines’ official websites at promotional fares.

Khanh Huyen from Dong Da district in Hanoi is preparing for her trip with friends to Mui Ne beach, Binh Thuan province. Huyen and her friends successfully booked their air tickets at promotional fares of VND 0 (excluding VAT, airport fees and other surcharges).

“We are all looking forward to our trip, hope it will be full of good experiences,” Huyen said.

Being fully aware the COVID-19 pandemic is still experiencing complicated developments worldwide, the tourism sector and local authorities have taken measures to ensure tourists’ safety while helping them enjoy their trips to the fullest.

Accordingly, facial masks, thermometers, hand sanitisers, and anti-bacterial spray have been installed at tourist sites, hotels and restaurants, along with information boards on COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures in Vietnamese, English and Chinese.

Hanoi re-opened religious establishments and relic sites from March 8 as well as the walking street around Hoan Kiem Lake and the surrounding area from March 12, with safety precautions in place.

The attractions ordered visitors to wear face masks, use hand sanitiser, and keep a safe distance during their stay.

The Temple of Literature was sterilised before reopening for tourists while QR Code for online healthcare declaration and information boards on COVID-19 prevention are displayed prominently in many places.

Meanwhile, at the pedestrian space around Hoan Kiem Lake, the management board of Hanoi’s Old Quarter has organised many cultural exchanges, entertainment activities and art performances, helping welcome back visitors.

Many posters are also on display along the pedestrian street to remind people to wear masks. In addition, at the entry / exit points, there are loudspeakers to inform people to strictly comply with anti-epidemic measures, particularly the Ministry of Health’s 5K message: khau trang (facemask), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distance), khong tu tap (no gathering) and khai bao y te (health declaration).
